Hi, my name is Chris Tyra, and I am a freshman at Converse. For most of my life I played soccer and I have always listened to music since I was 5. When I was in middle school I played flute, and I actually did really well. Playing music everyday was a way for me to drift off into the world and just have fun all while listening to my own music. My parents got me into music, and they always used to tell me that music is what connects people and others around them.
I was originally born in Russia but now I live in Greer, SC. I plan to study Hr. management at Converse, and I also plan to continue my career as a soccer player too. Now before I lived in SC I used to live in Louisville Kentucky, and I also played soccer there too. I grew up on a country road honestly in the middle of nowhere.
1. One of my favorite artists for a while has been a band called One Republic. This was a band that was introduced in the year of 2002, and the people in this band are, Ryan Tedder (lead vocals, piano), Zach Filkins (lead guitar, viola), Drew Brown (rhythm guitar), Brent Kutzle (bass, cello), Eddie Fisher (drums), and Brian Willett (keyboards, percussion). I honestly just love the song called " Counting Stars", because of how the beat and rhythm is slow and comforting throughout the song and how it always puts me in a good mood. I also find One Republic`s music almost uplifting in a way because I always listen to this on the way to a soccer game to get me hyped up.

2. Now in my experience with music I honestly just run into songs that I connect with super well and the song that really connected with me was a song called "Highs & Lows" by Prinz and Gabriela Bee. I really have not came across a song like this before, but it reminds me of how even at your lowest of lows or your highest of high God will always be there for you. This song also reminded me of my parents and how supportive they are of me and also how they were always by my side no matter what.

3. Now for the song I do not like is from the rock genre called "Master of Puppets" by Metallica. I do not like this song because I just can`t understand why they have to be yelling all the time. I will say this though, I did like the beat and the rhythm of the drums and guitar, but the singing aspect was a little too loud for my taste. My parents always used to listen to rock bands like these, but the music just never found a real connection to me like all the other ones.

Hi Chris, I also enjoy the band One Republic, their band has several hit songs that have dominated the charts and radio stations so I'm fairly aware of their diskography. In general, I genuinely enjoyed the song Counting Stars.
ReplyDeleteHey Chris! I feel like Counting Stars is such a classic. I had never heard Highs and Lows before but I really liked it! The music, along with the visuals from the music video, feels weirdly nostalgic. It reminds me of something I watched and listen to as a kid in the early 2010s. With Master of Puppets I honestly have to agree with you haha. I know Metallica is an iconic band and some perceive it as sacrilegious to say you don't like them but as a 2000s kid it just sounds like Guitar Hero music to me and I cannot unhear it.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, listening to "Counting Star" brings me back to elementary school. It was one of my favorites because it moves you though the beat. Not many artists can switch their tempo and beat a quickly and smoothly as they did and still make a great song out of it. It's a song to remember.
ReplyDeleteHey Chris, I really love your first song it definitely reminds me of my childhood. I've never heard of the second song but I really like it I might add it to my playlist because I just love the message that the song is showing.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris! I like that you mentioned "Counting Stars" by One Republic as that is a song that always bring me back to elementary school and all the fond memories I have of school dances with my friends. Funnily enough though, I think its interesting to see how everyone's music taste morphs over time as I personally grew up to love Metallica and it is a band that my younger brother and I now bond over.
