Music & Family

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. Today's blog is going to be about music and family. So to start this off I interviewed my mother who has always been driven to do better and actually play music at a high level. My Mom played the clarinet for about twenty years of her life all the way into college but she got burnt out after a while. For as long as I can remember my Mom has always liked the band Pink Floyd. I remember her telling me a story about how she actually got to go to one of the bands performances when she was a kid and I think she said someone threw their underwear at one of the singers. I don't know if that's actually true though.

One of her favorite songs from Pink Floyd was Time. She told me that one of her favorite instruments besides the clarinet was the drums and especially the guitar. My Dad actually plays the guitar pretty well. My Mom told me that she really enjoyed the guitar part of the song because of how the electric guitar sounded. Now for the drums she liked how the Rythm of the drums, and the guitar kept a separate beat but also how that separate beat made the music so good.

The second favorite artist is from way back 1935 and his name was Elvis Presley. I never really understood why she liked rock and roll and honestly just from listening to Elvis's sing and the beat that surrounds his voice made me like this genre a lot more. My mom also said the reason why she started liking this genre and singer is because of my grandmother and they also got to see Elvis on stage which is amazing. The reason why my mom started to like Elvis is because she said his voice just reached deep down in your soul and made you feel what he was feeling up on stage.

Lastly during the interview my Mom told me that she loved listening to maroon 5. She also told me the reason why some of my favorite songs are from that band is because of her. One of me and my Mom's favorite songs from maroon 5 is absolutely Sugar. The reason why my mom said she liked the song is because the lead singer's voice and the upbeat music playing in the back.
